Doing a fresh install of puppetmaster on Ubuntu 10.10, fails with
Jan 21 17:16:20 itzimasterbitzi puppet-master: Removing mount files: /etc/puppet/files does not exist
hmm, let’s try mkdir, no – won’t just work.
the error leads us to this bug report at ubuntu, which is closed?
such a classy: how not knowing when your team introduces bugs because noone bothers to test a fresh install and not testing reported bugs and not reading the updates to the bugs and having a bug tracker that lets the bug stay in “waiting for info” for 90 days although it was already submitted and then just autocloses the bug – noone checking or noticing that the error is with the maintainer not the user makes you totally fail and lets the bug stay unfixed for … 10 months.
Do we love teamwork …. yeah!
Surely I will reopen the bug now to make things better?
Fix your attitude to your users & stuff you maintain first.
Btw – really debugging the issue gets us this error, which is not coming up without being in test mode, which is by itself odd.
