just trying to check in on reality, after having a good share of Linux FUD today.
libstatgrab (supporting every unix and linux since 2.0) might be just as old as /proc is, just being portable, whereas /proc is the interface that only works on one OS with a weakly defined naming / structure (otherwise why does the bonding driver write to /proc and fc multipath to /sys? Err – nowhere?
Not to mention /sys was just ripped off Irix.
Yeah right guys.
I’ll need a long weekend of BSD hacking some time soon, so I can finally with some OSS system that has been design with careful loving thoughts in every byte.
Maybe some lowlevel formatting linux and windows disks with camcontrol.
