Alpine Linux X11 input not working

I had a very strange issue while following  :  The X server started but it did not let me type or use the mouse.

I found a really odd log entry that told me that, after loading the correct drivers, it had disabled them:

Hotplugging is on, devices using drivers ‘kbd’, ‘mouse’ or ‘vmmouse’ will be disabled.

Add the two lines as shown below to your Xorg config to fix that. I have NO idea why this happens, but the default X will definitely not work.

Section “ServerLayout”
Identifier “X.org Configured”
Screen 0 “Screen0” 0 0
InputDevice “Mouse0” “CorePointer”
InputDevice “Keyboard0” “CoreKeyboard”
Option “AutoAddDevices” “false”
Option “AutoEnableDevices” “false”
EndSection

And, no, I didn’t really need a GUI on that VM anyway 🙂
